Currency Name & Abbreviations

During the Bosnian War of Independence
(1992-1995) and in the immediate post-war period, Bosnian dinar was used as a
temporary currency.

Bosnian currency was once pegged 1-to-1 to the Deutsche Mark, thus the names
marka and fenings (from German Pfennig).
|
 |
The Bosnian marka's official international abbreviation is
BAM.
However, when prices are quoted locally, the abbreviation
KM is used instead.
